LoL 5V5 League Rules
This page contains the comprehensive rules governing gameplay and conduct within the WGL. Whilst we have endeavoured to ensure all rules provide adequate guidance to meet all eventualities, instances may occur where teams feel that further guidance is needed. In such an event, contact a member of the Admin Team.
1: Credit The following rules are based heavily on the League of Legends official ruleset for Season 2 (22/11/11) and have been edited solely for the purpose of the application to our League of Legends Cup Tournaments. These are in no way the complete ruleset and should not be construed as such. If you would like to view the official League of Legend rules, you can find them on their website
here.
2: General
2.1 All competitors involved in The WGL are expected to know and understand all of the rules. Not knowing that a rule existed is not an excuse for breaking that rule.
2.2 Any rule being broken may lead to disciplinary action. This action will be at the discretion of the Admin(s) involved, and the situation will be taken into account. Punishment may include, but not be limited to, forfeits, replays, penalty points, kicks, temporary and permanent bans.
2.3 Each team is allowed a roster of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 9 players.
2.4 Rosters must be submitted to the website before the Season commences. A deadline date will be specified for this on the main page of the website.
2.5 Teams are permitted to make any number of roster changes during the season. To request a roster change, please forward a PM to: "Anarchy Hoodlum". If approved, there will be a one week waiting period before said player can participate for that team. Urgent requests may ignore the one week waiting period at the admins discretion. (Subject to rules: 2.3, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9 and 2.10).
2.6 Matches must be arranged and and confirmed via the WGL website's fixtures functionality by the Sunday of each game week.
2.7 Interclan Transfers are not allowed in the WGL once the season begins.
2.8 Players who compete in the league must only use 1 gamertag/username and play for only 1 team in the league for the duration of the whole season. For all avoidance of doubt, if you play for a team in 1 league, you will only be permitted to play for that team in all other leagues. Players can no longer play for different team in different leagues.
2.9 Players who leave one team, are not permitted to participate under a different team until the next season i.e. Only one team per season. Any players found breaking this rule will result in instant ban from the WGL Leagues and offending teams facing severe punishments. This also includes moving between two squads in the same team.
2.10 Your username must match that displayed on your team roster. If you change your username/gamertag, you must send a Private Message to the gamertag Admin to update it on the WGL site. Any player found to be using more than 1 username/gamertag to compete in different teams in the league will be permanently removed.
3: Competition Guidelines
3.1 WGL 5v5 LoL: Follows a game format of two rounds, where teams will play each other twice on the arranged date each week.
3.2 WGL 5v5 LoL is run on a league system for EUW Region players ONLY. Each team will play each other twice, taking in turns being the "Red Team" and "Blue Team." Please note that teams may finish on a draw. If any clans finish on the same points at the end, final rankings will be decided by Cumulative Round Difference. In the event that round difference is equal, table positions will be determined by a 1 map head-to-head play-off for the teams in question
3.2a Round difference is worked out by if a team wins 3 maps to nil they get +3 round difference, if they win 3-2 they get a +1 round difference. "Round Wins" is the cumulative number of rounds won by each team
3.2b Points are awarded as 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss
3.2c At the end of the season the bottom 2 teams will be relegated and top 2 promoted
3.2d The Map list for each week will be specified in the fixture lists up front. Teams are not permitted to pick their own maps.
4: Game Settings

Cup Tournament Method: 5v5
Maps allowed: Summoner's Rift
Mode: Tournament Draft
Bans per team: 3

Game Winner: The team who destroys their opponent’s nexus or forces their opponent to surrender.
Champion Selection: Draft mode will be used. Players may only select champions that are unlocked via any means.

n restrictions at this time. At the discretion of the LoL Admins, restrictions may be added while the tournament is in progress if there are known bugs with any items/champions.
Draft Rules:
Draft Options: Tournament organizers can either use the draft mode feature or conduct a manual draft (e.g. draft that is conducted in chat without the use). The starting players for each team must be declared prior to the start of the draft (i.e. you cannot substitute a player after a draft has been conducted).
Draft Order:
The team with the better ranking (or listed as the home team) will have the choice to select their side as blue (first pick) or purple (second pick). If there is no ranking for a tournament, then the home team will be decided by a coin flip. In a multiple game series, the loser of a game will receive first pick for the next game.
Draft mode proceeds in a snake draft format as follows:
Blue Team= A; Purple Team = B
Bans: ABABAB
Picks: ABBAABBAAB 5: Stoppage of Play

Unintentional Disconnection: One player losing connection to the game due to problems or issues with the game client, platform, network, or PC.
Game Leaving/Intentional Disconnection: One player losing connection to the game due to player’s actions (i.e. quitting the game)..
Server Crash: Multiple players losing connection to a game due to an issue with a server or platform.
Stoppage of Play Procedure:
A player, who experiences technical issues, on any team may call for a game restart prior to first blood within the first 5 minutes of the game (i.e. before the timer shows 5:00). The player must be experiencing a hardware malfunction (e.g. monitor, peripheral, etc), a physical disruption (e.g. fan interference, table or chair breakage), or a configuration issues (e.g. runes, masteries, or summoner spells are not properply applied). The player must declare the issue in public chat or to a LoL Admin and then intentionally disconnect. Once the player disconnects, the game is considered null and void and should be restarted unless a LoL Admin determines that the conduct represents unfair play.
If an unintentional disconnection occurs within 5 minutes from the start of the match & before first blood –OR– a player’s client crashes or fails to load after champion selection, then the match must be restarted. Otherwise if the unintentional disconnection occurs after those milestones, the game will continue as normal. The crashed player may reconnect into the game as soon as they are able.
If a player intentionally disconnects without specifying a reason, then the game will continue as normal.
If a server crash occurs, then the LoL Admins will decide either between (a) restarting the game or (b) awarding the game to one of the teams. As a guideline, a game victory will only be awarded in a situation where one team was on the verge of certain defeat (e.g. A nexus was about to be destroyed).
6: Unfair Play
The following actions will be considered unfair play:
1) The use of any cheat program and/or map hack program.
2) An intentional disconnection without a proper and explicitely stated reason
3) The use of any settings exceeding the standard and permitted settings
4) Intentionally allowing an opponent to win a game.
5) Unsportsmanlike or disruptive behavior such as inappropriate and/or unprofessional actions directed towards another player or tournament official.
6) The use of a game bug that is determined by the board of referees as being unfair.
7) The use of an ineligible player (aka “ringing”)
Upon discovery of any player committing any violations regarded as unfair play, the offending player, at the sole discretion of the LoL Admins, may receive a warning, a forfeit loss, disqualified from the tournament.

During the course of the event, the LoL Head Admin or group of LoL Admins may determine other actions to embody unfair play.
