FIFA Ultimate Team Rules
This page contains the comprehensive rules governing gameplay and conduct within the WGL. Whilst we have endeavoured to ensure all rules provide adequate guidance to meet all eventualities, instances may occur where teams feel that further guidance is needed. In such an event, contact a member of the Admin Team.
1: Credit
The following rules have been defined by the WGL Fifa Admin team and have been created solely for the purpose of the application to the WGL Ultimate Team League.
2: General
2.1 All competitors involved in The WGL are expected to know and understand all of the rules. Not knowing that a rule existed is not an excuse for breaking that rule.
2.2 Any rule being broken may lead to disciplinary action. This action will be at the discretion of the Admin(s) involved, and the situation will be taken into account. Punishment may include, but not be limited to, forfeits, replays, penalty points, kicks, temporary and permanent bans.
2.3 Each Clan is allowed a roster of a minimum of 1 players and a maximum of 1 players.
2.4 Rosters must be submitted to the website before the Season commences. A deadline date will be specified for this on the main page of the website.
2.5 You must see out the season, no one can take your place on your team.
2.6 Matches will consist of a 1v1 each week using your own Ultimate Team created.
2.7 Matches must be arranged and confirmed via the WGL website's fixtures functionality by the Sunday preceding each game week.
2.8 Interclan Transfers are not allowed in the WGL once the season begins.
2.9 Players who compete in the league must only use 1 gamertag and play for only 1 Clan in the league for the duration of the whole season. For all avoidance of doubt, if you play for a clan in 1 league, you will only be permitted to play for that clan in all other leagues. Players can no longer play for different clans in different leagues.
2.10 Players who leave one clan, are not permitted to participate under a different clan until the next season i.e. Only one clan per season. Any players found breaking this rule will result in instant ban from the WGL Leagues and offending teams facing severe punishments. This also includes moving between two squads in the same clan.
2.11 Your tag must match that displayed on your team roster. If you change your gamertag, you must send a Private Message to the 'Gamertag Admin' to update it on the WGL site. Any player found to be using more than 1 gamertag to compete in different teams in the league will be permanently removed.
3: League Structure
3.1 All players are allowed, there will be no restrictions on players so you can have a 60 rated bronze or a 94 rated gold!
3.2 All attribute cards are forbidden. A attribute card is a training card which boosts your players stats.
When it shows your opponents team before the game please have a look and make sure none of the players have a box around their rating. If they do have a box then this means that the player has a injury, out of contract or a attribute card has been applied. So to avoid confusion please make sure all your players in your team have contracts and dont have injuries.
3.3 Each team will play each other twice, home and away. The result from each game will then be added together to form the final result.
3.4 Players will receive 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, losses will result in zero points awarded. Goal difference is included and used to separate teams who share the same points. If the goal difference is the same, goals scored will be used. If this is the same, the result between the teams concerned will be used to denote who sits above whom in the table.
3.5 In the eventuality that the result was a draw, a play off shall be played against the teams concerned to decide who takes the higher position in the table (Please note – this will only take place if the two final positions in the table are pivotal for deciding who is promoted/relegated/placed in play offs).

- 3a: Promotion & Relegation
The bottom two teams from the each division will be relegated at the end of the season. In the divisions below the top one, the top two teams will be automatically promoted.
4: Setting up your game
Game setup is done through "Play a Friend" option in the Ultimate team hub and is done with standard match settings. Each team will host one game. Away goals are NOT in effect.
5. Unsportsmanlike Conduct
5.1
Deliberately impeding the goalkeeper is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, blocking the goalkeeper during set pieces, and deliberately running across the goalkeeper during dropkicks and throws.
5.2 Any team that is adjudged to have deliberately impeded the goalkeeper during play to gain an advantage (I.e. a goal), will automatically lose their fixture 3-0. Each case will be reviewed by the submission of video evidence..
6: Quitting Out
Quitting is only allowed at the start of the match if you notice that your opponent is using a custom formation or that the game settings are incorrect.
Quit the match and let your opponent know that they have broken the rules, go back into the game with the correct settings.
7: Lagging Out
7.1 If one of the players lags out during the match; the match must be re-started using the same settings as above, however, the score and time at the point when the player disconnected shall still stand.
7.2 In the new game, the score will carry over, and the remainder of the match should be played out. E.g. Player One is 2-0 up against Player Two, Player One lags out in the 53rd minute (in game).
7.3 The Match will then be re-started and played up until the 37th minute with Player Two winning 2-0, at which point the score in match 2 (0-2) should be added to the score from match 1 (2-0) to form the end result (2-2 draw).
8: Submitting Results
8.1 Once the match is complete, BOTH players must log in to The WGL and submit their result.
8.2 Failure to do so will impact on the updating efficiency of the site. If there is an issue with the result, it will get flagged; you may then be required to provide us with Match Result Proof.
9: How To Obtain Match Result Proof (If needed.)
9.1 EA SPORTS Football web site.
Go to here and register or search for your XBOX Live gamer tag, on your profile you will see a list of matches played.
Take a screen shot of your PLAYER HUB stats showing both opponent's gamer tag and results.
9.2 With your camera or phone, take a photo of your Player HUB Head-to-Head matches.
10: No shows, Disputes
10.1 Both players will have agreed to and confirmed the fixture on The WGL prior to the match. Both players need to meet in the Match Lobby punctually.
10.2 If your opponent does not show up after 15 minutes, without contact, then contact a League Admin.
10.3 Please note that all chat logs/messages must be kept as proof in case of any protest. A player has a total of 30 minutes to show and be ready to start the match.
10.4 Failure to do so could result in a 3-0 default loss. Players are solely responsible for the scheduling date and time of the match.
10.5 To receive a forfeit win, you must provide proof that your opponent did not show, and that the game was scheduled for that time. Agreed proof will include the forum AND either messages, videos or photographic proof.
10.6 If there is still sufficient time left during the current playing week, the players should try to re-arrange the fixture and completed once more. This cannot be done until a League Admin has been contacted about the initial problem.
10.7 After the no show, the League Admin will try to contact your opponent and will make a ruling on when the game can be played. Common sense will be used; a forfeit will not be given if a previous game has overrun etc or if the opposing player has informed you that they will be late for whatever reason.
10.8 Default wins will only be given on the occasions where there is a complete no show on the agreed time and date without any communication or explanation as to why they were not going to be there.
10.9 Please note, that common sense will always be used first, making the decision to award a default loss will not be made lightly.
10.10 There is a simple sanction process in place for the players who are awarded default losses, they are as follows:

1st Default Loss = A Written Warning via PM.
2nd Default Loss = 3pts deducted.
3rd Default Loss = Removal from current league.

The Admins reserve the right to remove players from the league if they are not fulfilling the fixtures.
11: Arranging Fixtures
11.1 It's the responsibility of both the Home and Away teams to ensure that the matches are arranged before the Sunday deadline of each week.
11.2 If you feel at any point you can't reach the opposition PM an admin as soon as possible.
11.3 Admins will contact players throughout the week as a reminder to arrange games, there will be a final reminder post out on the Friday of each week.
11.4 If a player doesn't meet the Sunday deadline 2 weeks in a row they will not be allowed to participate in Fifa tournaments
